Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and standards in all organisational activities. 
  • Develop and implement effective HSE policies, procedures, and programs to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. 
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and regulatory compliance gaps, recommending and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Provide expert guidance on regulatory requirements, keeping the organisation informed about changes and ensuring adherence to relevant laws. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to address HSE concerns, participate in investigations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Anywhere from 5+ years of experience in HSE, preferrable in the Oil & Gas Industry 
  • Visible commitment to maintaining the highest standard of safety. 
  • Extensive experience in HSE management of onshore drilling projects, preferably in Australia. 
  • A proven track record of successfully obtaining HSE related regulatory approvals for onshore drilling projects in Australia. 
  • In-depth knowledge of local and national health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure compliance in all operations. 
  • Proven experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating health, safety, and environmental risks within a variety of work environments. 
  • Ability to develop and implement emergency response plans, ensuring preparedness for potential incidents and accidents. 
  • Proficient in HSE management systems, hazard and risk management, audits, incident investigation, change management, training, crisis and emergency protocols, and ISO Standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001). 
  • A positive can-do attitude. 
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex HSE information in a clear and understandable manner, fostering open dialogue with stakeholders.
